Site UI Improvements
Hello everyone!
Today I pushed an update to Better Skill Capped that should improve the experience while using the site. I’ve tried to streamline using the site by cutting down on the whitespace, making commentary results more useful, and adding documentation for more advanced usage of the search bar.
You’ll see that the most important tags for a video, such as content type, role, and release date, are now highlighted. I’ve also added text to each tag so that it is clear what the content of each tag represents.
Commentary search results now have much more terse titles, so there is no duplication of information like there was previously. Each tag now has a label to make it clear what each piece of information is.
A new help button is now present at the bottom right of the page. Clicking the button opens up a modal which shows tips for using advanced search features.
The search tips modal should help advanced users use the site more effectively.
Lastly, the site was updated to point to Skill Capped’s new commentary URLs. This fixes an issue where clicking a link to a commentary led to the incorrect page on Skill Capped’s site.
This update should be live now at better-skill-capped.com. Please contact me on GitHub if you have any feedback or issues with the site.
